TBTT JUNIOR ATHLETE POLICY

As a member club of USATT and USAB, TBTT follows US Center for SafeSport rules and regulations to prevent sexual, physical, and emotional abuse on behalf of youth athletes, coaches, employees, and our members.

In the guidelines below, all children/juniors refer to anyone under the age of 18.

In the guidelines below, TBTT students refer to children who are attending our team training activities and represent TBTT or our training partners during tournaments.

  • Any adult (18+) practicing with a junior player who is NOT a TBTT student or not their own children – must be SafeSport trained. You must complete the SafeSport online training at your own cost and provide the certificate of completion to TBTT management.   • No junior is allowed at TBTT without a parent or guardian present, unless they are in a group or private lesson with a coach or doing activities scheduled by TBTT coaches. TBTT employees (managers, coaches, club assistants, etc.) have the right to ask any junior about the presence of their parents or guardians. Juniors who stay at TBTT alone without a parent or guardian should be picked up by their parent or guardian immediately unless they are attending group or private training with a coach, or doing practices approved and guided by a coach.
  • All parents must check in at the front desk for any activities their children will attend at TBTT. Check-in policies and procedures may vary depending on activity types:
    • If your child is attending camps, parents or guardians MUST come in to TBTT, sign the check-in form at the front desk.
    • If your child is attending group and private lessons, parents or guardians do NOT need to sign the check-in form at the front desk, but parents/guardians or the student must let the front desk staff know what activity they are attending.
  • Parents must pick up their child no later than 15 minutes after their lesson or any other coach scheduled activities. Any child picked up later than 15 minutes after the completion of their lesson may be subject to a $3.00 per minute late pickup and supervision fee. Late pickup and supervision fee may be charged to your account on file without sending an invoice. The receipt will be sent to the email you provided to us.
  • All juniors must wait in the lobby for pickup.
  • Juniors cannot have a membership unless
    • Their parent or guardian has an active membership at TBTT
    • Or they have a coach’s approval and they are attending coach assigned practice activities regularly.
  • Juniors cannot have a membership unless

  • No open play allowed for badminton juniors (18 and under) during the following days and times:
    (This applies to both members and non-members who are 18 and under):
    • Monday – Friday: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
    • Saturday: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
    • Sunday: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
  • All juniors on the badminton court during the above days will be asked to leave except when they are:
    • Attending paid group lessons or camps
    • Attending paid private lessons
    • Attending coach-assigned activities

Infraction of the rules above and the rules stated in our published guidelines could result in immediate dismissal from the club without the refund of dues or classes paid.

Both TBTT employees and Badminton advisory committee members have the right to ask anyone who violates the above rules to leave the center without any refunds due.

Badminton Group Training Policy
Overview

TBTT provides three seasons of badminton junior group training each year. Each season’s start and end date is based on Wake county public school calendar:

  • Fall/Winter Season: New school year start date - Dec, 31
  • Spring Season: January 1st - Summer break start date
  • Summer Season: Summer break start date - Summer break end date
Required for all groups
  1. Students have to be registered to the group training class to attend training classes.
  2. Drop-in for group training is allowed only if the class is not full and has to be paid before attending the class.

SHOE POLICY

Very important!!

Everyone who plays on the TBTT badminton courts is required to wear non-marking badminton shoes.

The shoes should be

  • Clean and completely dry
  • Not worn outdoor
  • Without black soles

The proper shoes also prevent the players from the injuries. The badminton shoes are worn out quickly if they are used outdoor.

We have the test mat which you can test your shoes before entering the courts.

THERE WILL BE A FINE OF $500 IF YOUR SHOES LEAVE MARKS ON THE COURTS.



Badminton Court Usage Policy
  • TBTT members can play outside the business hours.
  • Walk-ins are accepted during the business hours: starting at 1:30pm on Monday through Friday and at 9:00am on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Walk-ins will need to create/have an EZ Facility account and will be required to store their credit card information. *Walk-ins will be issued guest ID's for tagging purposes. The ID must be returned on the same day otherwise you will incur a charge of $10/day until returned.
  • No badminton walk-ins (anyone without an active badminton membership at TBTT) on Thursdays from 6:00 pm- 9:00 pm. If you paid for a walk-in fee any time before 6:00 pm, you must leave before 6:00 pm. You may return and play after 9:00 pm.
  • Parents/individuals are required to have TBTT membership/all-day pass to play/practice/train with your kids during the non-peak hours. The non-peak hours are: 1:30pm to 4:00pm on Monday through Friday and  6:00pm-8:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Members/Guests who do not follow the badminton court shoe policy will be charged with $500.
  • The exercise room is allowed only for the TBTT members. The members under 18 years old require the parent or coach's supervision.
  • The morning members, between 5:30am - 9:00am, must enter the facility one at a time from the main door. There will be $50 fine for the members who allow the tailgating.
  • All members are required to swipe their ID cards at the front desk.
Table Tennis Open Play Policy

Table Tennis Open play is available most days during business hours. There is NO open play on Fridays after 6pm due to our Friday Leagues. There is NO open play during tournaments. See our Events for a list of scheduled tournaments. Private lessons and group lessons take priority over open play. If you have any questions, please call the front desk at (919) 388-0272.

Table Tennis League Rules
  • Play is round robin format, best 3 out of 5 games per match.
  • League rating will not affect USATT rating.
  • Players will be divided into three groups.
    • The first week, players will be seeded based on League/USATT Tournament Rating.
    • Two players will move up, two players will move down, and the rest will stay.
    • Each player must play every other player in their group in order.
    • If a player is late, that match will be skipped and replayed at the end if both parties agree. If the opponent of the late player chooses not to go back and play that match, it will be a defaulted loss to the late player.
    • Any player who leaves before playing someone in their group will be lose by default to that person (rating points will be exchanged as usual)
    • A minimum of five matches must be played each night.
  • Substitutes will be allowed in this league.
    • Players that are going to miss a league night are responsible for finding their own substitute.
    • The substitute MUST have a lower USATT tournament rating to be eligible.
    • All sub matches count toward the match percentage and rating of the player being subbed.
    • A player must submit the name of their substitute to the league director at least 24hours prior to league start time.
  • A minimum of 50 matches must be played to be eligible to claim prizes.
  • If a player misses more than four weeks, the player will be ineligible to play in the next league session.
  • Prizes will be determined based on enrollments.
General
  • Follow the TBTT staff instruction and comply with the TBTT guideline.
  • The management makes a final decision on the gym operation.
  • We do not allow coaching by outsiders, regardless of paid or unpaid. Please respect our staff coaches. This doesn’t apply to the sanctioned tournaments where coaching is allowed.
  • The following actions are the grounds for the immediate dismissal from the club without the refund of dues paid:
    • Harassment, bullying, being racist, being misogynistic, being derogatory on account of religion, sexual orientation, social class, etc...
    • Undermining the management of the club.
    • Being disrespectful to the TBTT staff.
    • Urging other TBTT players to leave the club or to take coaching elsewhere.
    • Engaging in any activity which affects the club's reputation adversely.
  • Do not interfere with the staff who coaches or who helps other customers.
  • The following actions require the TBTT staff permission:
    • Using the club’s table tennis (TT) ball carts.
    • Moving the equipment at the facility.
    • For the players to use their own TT balls/carts to feed multi-ball to each other. A TT robot is available for the members to rent.
  • After borrowing the equipment, please collect the TT balls from the floor and return the rental paddle to the front desk. Please collect all the personal belongings before leaving.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, or if you have any comment or suggestion on any changes, please contact a member of the advisory committee.
  • The committee is responsible for creating and enforcing all the TBTT rules.
  • The fees paid are non-refundable. In the event you issue a credit card dispute or charge back a fee of $100.00 will be levied against your account and you will not be permitted to enter the facility until this and any monetary due has been paid.
Health and Safety
  • While the game is in progress, do not walk through the court. Please wait until the point is completed.
  • If you are watching or waiting to play at the back of a court, please do not disrupt the player on the court.
  • Do not play under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Do not smoke within the building proximity.
  • Do not bring the weapons of any kind into the facility.
  • Protect our TT equipment. You can only place the paddles and balls onto the tables. Do not damage the tables, barriers, nets or other equipment. Do not sit on the tables.
  • Please do not move the table without the staff  permission.
  • Please clean up any trash such as cans, bottles, etc., and dispose them in the trash cans.
  • Do not adjust the facility thermostat without the TBTT permission.
USA Table Tennis (USATT)

The USATT rules of table tennis apply to our tournaments which includes:

  • Use sanctioned equipment
  • Serve legally
  • Do not wear clothing which is the same color as the ball

MEMBER CANCELATION POLICY

  • Annual membership cannot be cancelled except for the cases of the medical condition or moving out of state.
  • The following requirements must be met to cancel your membership:
    • Request must be sent 7 days prior to the billing due date.
    • Membership cards must be returned to TBTT prior to the requested cancelation date.
    • Monthly members will NOT have any refund, in between the membership period.
    • For annual members the refund amount will be prorated (converted to monthly plan rate). There will be an additional $30 charged on cancelation. All due amounts need to be cleared from the membership account.
  • There will be a $20 charge for lost member cards.
  • Once cancelled, your membership number may be assigned to the new members, and any history on your account may be deleted.
